Connectors
ALL THE CONNECTORS REQUIRED ARE INCLUDED IN THE ACCESSORY KIT SUPPLIED WITH THE INSTRUMENT.
A.1 Mains connector
This is a female IEC CEE22 type and is normally supplied with the instrument in the accessory pack as a moulded
lead with integral 13 Amp. British domestic-style plug. Continental or North-American pattern connectors may be
supplied as alternatives in appropriate cases.
If you need to change from the British to an alternative style of connector take care to make the connections
correctly to ensure operator safety. The wires are colour-coded as follows:-
Brown Line
Blue Neutral
Green and yellow Earth
A.2 Motor Connectors
These are supplied with the instrument in the accessory pack, as two kits of parts. Each is a 4 pin ITT "Trident"
rectangular male type.
Cable mounting plug TST04PA00
Hood TST04AH00
Crimp pin (4 required) T2P16MCILZ

A.3 Remote connector
This is a 9 way "D" type female connector. The pin numbering has been chosen so that a 9-way 'straight through'
male-to-female cable will be satisfactory for use with a PC and The SMD2 Demonstration Program and a suitable
cable is provided with the instrument for this purpose.
Used pin connections and signal names are:
3 Received data
2 Transmitted data
5 Signal ground
The Received data line is connected to the Transmitted data from the computer and the Transmitted data is
connected to the received data line at the computer. If users write their own application programs using BIOS
routines it will be necessary to link pins 4 to 6 at one end of the cable.
A.4 Thermocouple connector
This is a miniature flat pin K type connector, for example Labfacility type FMTC-K-M.
